We finally were able to see it!

A Few Weeks Ago

A few weeks ago my wife and I attended an early premier of the Jurassic World New Movie. As I have written before there were problems with the viewing the last time we tried to watch it at a special early premiere. However we still had our free passes for a later viewing that we utilized yesterday July 16, 2018.

I have to say going to a midday movie on a work day is rather nice and quiet. It was probably the most quietest we have ever experienced when going to the movies.  This included all the servers coming in and out, taking orders and bringing orders.

The Movie

I know that many of the professional movie review critics have not had favorable opinions about this movie. But I’m a Jurassic fan from the very first film featuring Sam Neill and Laura Dern, way back in 1993.

Blue and Trex, Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum are back in the roles we all know them for so well. Yes Jeff Goldblum as Doctor Malcolm is as annoying as ever, LOL.

I don’t want to go into descriptive details that will ruin the movie for anyone else, but just go see it to enjoy it. There will be scenes where you get ticked off at what’s happening, and then there are the AW!!!, moments. Keep in mind, these movies are just for fun.

What has been nice is the continuity of the story lines over the years of sequels, although I admit, I wasn’t to crazy for Jurassic II, they almost lost me with that one. With this new movie, we meet some new characters along with some of the cast from Jurassic World (2015).

Background

The Jurassic Series were based on a book written by Michael Crichton.  He has also written numerous other books such as The Andromeda StrainThe Great Train Robbery, and Congo (one of my personal favorites).  I don’t recommend seeing the Congo movie though – as often is the case, the movie did not live up to the book AT ALL!

The Plot / Conclusion

Some bits are predictable, some are a surprise, a few laughable moments, and as for the surprise bits, this movie is worth a see. There will be mentions and nods to the earlier films, and they fit right into the current storyline, as well as what i believe an opener to another film later down the road.  And yes, there is Blue.

What is exciting is that Jurassic World 3 is coming to theaters on June 11, 2021!

What did you think of the movie?

Until next time,

Yvonne
